Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain has withdrawn the petition against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from Rouse Avenue Court in Tihar Jail CCTV footage leak case. In this petition, a contempt action was demanded on behalf of Satyendar Jain on the ED. During this, the lawyer of Satyendar Jain said that he will present his views in the appropriate forum. He told that now he will file a petition in the Delhi High Court. At the same time, the Rouse Avenue Court has given permission to Satyendar Jain to withdraw the petition.
In fact, Satyendar Jain had requested the court to take contempt action against the ED in the matter of leaking CCTV footage to the media. At the same time, Special Judge Vikas Dhul had also directed the ED to file its reply on Satyendar Jain’s petition.

Fruit-vegetable petition dismissed
Earlier, the petition demanding fruits and vegetables to be given to Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain during his fast in jail was rejected. Also, the court accepted that Jain was given special treatment in the jail. The Rouse Avenue Court, while rejecting the special food petition of Satyendar Jain, made strict remarks in the order. The court said that Jail officials gave special treatment to Satyendar Jain, fruits and vegetables were being given to Jain keeping the rules in check.

Providing fruits and vegetables to the jail was in violation of Article 14 of the Constitution of India. The court also said that prima facie it appears that fruits and vegetables were given to Satyendar Jain in violation of DPR 2018 by the staff of Jail No. 7 in proper order of Tihar Jail DG or any authority.
