In the case of agriculture, it can be said rightly. The most famous place of this district is the temple of Lord Shamlaji. Shamlaji is in the town and Shamlaji is divided by the borders of Gujarat and Rajasthan and the Lord Shamlaji in this temple is called Kalia Thakur by the local people. The Shamlaji temple has a wonderful dark colored idol of Lord Shamlaji and it is the center of faith for the people living here. People from all over Gujarat come here to visit.
modasa assembly seat
The number of voters in Modasa assembly constituency is around 270,000, in which the maximum number of voters are of Thakor caste around one lakh, the remaining 35,000 are Muslim voters. That’s why political parties field candidates on this seat only after seeing the caste. The current MLA from here is Rajendra Singh Thakor, who won the last election on a Congress ticket and is in the fray this time too. BJP has also fielded a candidate from the same caste. Bhikhu Singh Parmar from BJP is in the fray. AAP party has also made a bet here.
AIMM also registered its presence in Modasa municipality in the local body elections. Once the Muslim voters here used to be a one-sided vote bank of the Congress, but now they too have been divided. Now it is not the fiefdom of any one party, yet BJP has been giving a tough fight on this seat, this time also the contest here is close.
Byad Assembly Seat
The number of voters in this assembly constituency is around two lakh 45 thousand. Most voters are OBC Thakor and here also parties field OBC candidates. Here Mahendra Singh Vaghela, son of former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankar Singh Vaghela, is in the fray on behalf of the Congress. BJP has given ticket to Bhikhi Ben Parmar.
Bhikhi Ben Parmar was dropped from this seat and the ticket of sitting MLA Dhaval Singh Jhala was cut off who was elected on BJP ticket and rebelled against BJP and is now contesting as an independent candidate. The contest on this seat has become triangular, here too the contest is close.
Bhiloda Assembly Seat
This seat is a tribal dominated seat, in which Meghraj, Shamlaji and Bhiloda are its main towns. The border of this entire assembly seat is adjacent to Rajasthan. There are a majority of tribal voters here, who are decisive. In the past, Congress candidate Dr. Anil Joshiara was winning the election from this seat. Dr. Joshiara was popular for being a doctor with money and it was always a challenge for the BJP to defeat him, but this famous doctor could not control himself and got buried in the cheek of death while serving the people in Corona.
This time here Congress has fielded Rajendra Pargi, while Poonamchand Baranda is in the fray from BJP. He contested elections in 2017 also on BJP ticket, but lost the election. Poonamchand is a retired police service officer. There are around one and a half lakh tribal voters in this assembly seat. This assembly seat is reserved for Scheduled Castes. Congress candidate Rajendra Pargi has been the president of the District Panchayat and has his own political experience.
BJP candidates having experience of police service have been trying to make inroads in the public since 2017 and that is why the party has fielded them again. The tribals here cannot be called backward because the tribals here are educated. Good places will be found in every corner of the state. Meghraj block can be called backward in this assembly seat and there is no problem in saying that it is backward. Here also the contest is triangular as AAP has also won the battle here for the first time. Although the history here has been of Congress victory, but this time it has to be seen whether Congress can handle its legacy or not.
