‘Ju Ae’, the daughter of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, is once again in the news. This is the second time she has appeared in public. Right now his age is only between 9 to 10 years. Apart from that, Kim has two more children. Eldest son and another daughter too. But the way Kim is presenting ‘Ju Ae’, speculation is being made that she could be the successor of Kim Jong Un.
Kim Jong arrived with his daughter in a meeting with missile scientists. Government media has termed Kim’s daughter as her ‘most beloved child’. Before this meeting, she was seen in public last week. In photographs released by state media, she was seen observing the test of the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) with her parents and other officials.
During the observation, Ju Ai, dressed in a white coat and red shoes, was seen walking hand in hand with her father Kim, while behind her a huge missile was seen loaded onto a launch vehicle. North Korean state media reported on Sunday that Ju Ae and Kim posed for photographs with scientists, technicians, officials and other personnel involved in the launch of the Hwasong-17 ICBM.
Ju Ai is being described as Kim’s ‘most loved’ child. Government media has also released several pictures of both, in which Kim’s daughter is seen holding her father’s arm wearing a long and black fur coat. Ankit Panda, an expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, said, “It is certainly noteworthy that Kim appeared with her daughter on such an important occasion”.
According to Panda, Kim Joo Ae’s photo with her father during a meeting with technicians and scientists involved in the testing of the ICBM supports the idea that she is being projected as a possible successor to her father. At the same time, some experts have also expressed surprise that despite North Korea being a male-dominated society, why is Kim presenting his daughter as his successor.
